I could not let this great opportunity to congratulate Rebecca on her 21 years of treading the boards on the Irish stage. On this night (Mothers Day 1985) 21 years ago, I had the pleasure of seeing Rebecca perform for the first time, in the Olympia Theatre as part of the Sunday Night Live at The Olympia. Though I had never heard of Rebecca until that night, she just bowled me over with her rendition of "Dont Cry for me Argentina" which promoted her starring in Evita a short time later, which need less to say, introduced me firmly to a much loved star. 21 years on,From Evita to Blood Brothers,from Chess to Hollywood ladies,Side by Side,The Adare festival,The Rose of Tralee coupled with the trips around almost every theatre in the country. Heres to the next 21 and more!!.It was great to see you again in "The Streisand-Songbook" last Thursday.I hope that we can all meet soon and celebrate the 21st in style !! Mícheál xxx
